Remember: Fill 1st & last pages with apps; have at least one app on all other pages; put one of the last alphabet Apple app in the last spot on the last page (like Voice Memo or Youtube); force that app off by dragging another app to the page (easy to do with an app from your bottom row if you want); turn your device off; turn it back on. Do you have a new 2nd page with only one app on it? If so, you’ve done it! Judging from the iOS4′s ‘folders’ concept each with 12 apps, the max install base will be 2160 apps. Well, that translates to 135 pages of apps at 16 each for the iOS3.x using this technoque. I’ve just added page 57 (not all are full, but I’ve got ‘categories’ per page — sort of like folders — but with up to 16 rather than 12). Has anybody hit a limit? I’m on an old 8GB 2G original iPhone, mind you, running iOS3.1.3. Your results should be even better… WARNING: It has just been reported that upgrading to iTunes 9.2 or higher may cause you to loose all your added pages. See comments area for user experiences!!! @crazygood150 Well it took all night, but ALL my apps (except the incompatible ones that relied only on the camera — about 60 of them) were there! I could only SEE the first 11 pages — which were exactly the ones I wanted where I wanted them. Using the ‘search’ feature (to the left of the first page) I could type the first few letters of any app, find it and launch it. It’s all there! Do I ever go outside now? What’s outside? Why bother! –Just kidding, yes, I hike and take pictures… Enjoy!
@crazygood150 Do I really need that many apps? No. I’ve got 1400, but it would be crazy to install all of them. However….
I DID install all of them on my iPad 64GB, but only AFTER I installed the main ones on all 11 pages. It kind of happened by accident. I was happily updating my iPad settling in on my ‘best’ apps and the layout on each page when all of a sudden ALL my apps were checked ‘on’ when I hit the Apps tab (in iTunes 9.1). So I figured “Divine Intervention”, right, and I clicked OK.

i have an 8 gig ipod touch. Ive tried to load apps on it but it wont load any. Does anyone know how to unlock it so that it will accept apps??? Would appreciate the help gr8ly… Thanks.
