I use a MacBook Pro, My 3G iPhone is 3.1.2, JB and unlocked Blackra1n. Screen currently frozen on logo. I have iTunes 9.1.1(12). When I press shift when pressing restore, I do not get a pop up window, it wants to upgrade to 3.1.3. I have a backup to restore from, but cant get past the Upgrade window. Can you help?

ok i had the same problem until i figured it out! you are getting the wrong firmware. I was following the directions in all the videos but the videos had me download 1g and 3g fireware while i have a 2g. Thats why you keep getting the “not for this device error” use spirit first, it will tell you what kind of ipod you have. then get the right firmware and it works!
i can’t downgrade even with the 2g firmware. I get the same annoying message saying that it’s not the right firmware.
