You guys are dumb, you guys have the old generation ipods, which work with a/v cables that plug into the headphone jack. this is for the new generation ipods which are known by apple as the “iPod Classic” (even though they are new) which only play videos if the a/v cable is plugged into the bottom of the ipod.
Its cool though guys, just make sure you know what your talking about before you make it look like a bad product.
for anyone else, this does work for sure.

I purchased this item so that I could have a line level signal going from my 120gb iPod Classic to my A/V Receiver. It replaced an 1/8″ to RCA cable. By connecting this new cable to the bottom of the iPod, I was able to send line level signals to RCA inputs without using the iPod’s internal headphone amplifier. It works very well for this purpose as my audio is now clean and clear. Also, I don’t have to worry about overloading my receiver’s inputs with too much signal from my iPod’s headphone amplifier. I have not tried out the video capabilities of this cable yet because I do not use my iPod for that purpose but for the purpose of transmitting clean line level audio from iPod to receiver, this cable is an excellent buy. I paid $5 for the cord and received free shipping. Shipping was VERY FAST. I am very satisfied with this product and with the seller who is charging only $4.99.

made from cheap plastics, this cable may not be of Monster quality (or even RadioShack quality), but it certainly does the job well (when connected correctly).

I ordered the cable and it shipped in a timely manor and arrived before time. The problem I have with it, is the audio works but not the video, even though I have done everything said by the seller. It seems the video cable is faulty I am not sure. Can you give me some help?

The cable appears to be extremely well made, but it is NOT compatible with my new iPod “Classic” 80GB. Repardless of the video ouput settings I use, this iPod will NOT play video through this cable. Bummer! Apple sells a cable for $49 (both composite and component video options are available). This appears to be the only option.
