iditdahtext.com. iDitDahText is a keyboard alternative for the iphone and iPod touch that allows you to enter characters by tapping their morse code. The interface is a dual lever touch paddle (which also can be used as single lever paddle), coupled to an iambic keyer and decoder. Please watch the video for details and a demonstration of text being entered at 50 WPM. iDitDahText also provides a plugin for a game called Typing Sebastian which is a quick fun way to learn how to use morse code with iDitDahText. See http for more details.

@oe7er not sure exactly what you are trying to say because I don’t speak German but the connection I was trying make to ham radio was simply to show that many people use morse code at high speed, so anyone is capable of learning to use iDDT.
interssiert kein schwein…. sowas soll amateurfunk sein bzw. hat nichts mit afu zu tun ihr pfeiffm
K7TP – here – I have it now. Thanks; this is fun!
@k7tp And I did read the FAQ – just don’t seem to have this SB toggle!
@kb1ooo Having the same issue. What screen are you in when you do this, and did I need to install something else first?
@NotKrazyKristian Your not learning a new language at all. It is still English, and is just another sound for the characters. Thats why you have to learn Morse by sound and not sight. The written Dot/Dash list shouldnt even be written! How do you write down the sound of a Robin, or a monkey??? I would love to try this Iphone program, but dont own a device to play it on! I think I know someone that might have this! It seems like a great idea! KE7ZVJ
kb1ooo !!! are there any plans to develop this app for android ???
not unless Apple allows 3rd party developers to write keyboard plugins. Maybe when 4g comes out but doubtful.
getting to 20wpm isn’t hard. Using the typing sebastian program together with iDDT, people are getting above 20wpm in days. certainly not any longer than a standard touch typing course.
You mean the Typing Sebastian program? More info please so I can help.
I dont know if its just me but I cant get the iditdahtext plug in for iditdahtext
world record is 75 words per minute. 5 wpm is good for a beginner. and getting above 20 is hard.
for morse lovers or just for the sake of leatrning it.
but probably wont make your typing faster any time soon.
that is amazing what an incredible idea.
but it looks like i wont buy an iphone since they have troubles jailbreaking the new bootrom i doubt they will be able to jailbreak iphone 4g which i was waiting to buy.
a romance that couldnt even start. TT
Not unless Apple eventually allows 3rd parties to develop keyboard plugins. Unlikely…
any chance of getting this on non-jailbroken phones?
Take a look at how quickly he does it at the beginning.
The reason I love this is, I don’t have to LOOK AT the iphone to send a text or email. I can text without ever taking my eyes off the road.
I upped your comment because I think it’s a decent concern, if poorly and aggressively worded. Learning to send IMC is a lot easier than learning to receive it for most people.
Is there any similar software for windows??
Once you learn, you can enter very quickly. In the video, I’m entering at 50wpm. Also, you don’t have to look at the screen so you have true touch typing.
takes fucking 3 sec to type a letter XD. instead of 1 button for each letter u have to push and hold and shit.
Nice.

slide your finger from left to right or right to left on the top bar. Doesn’t work from the lock screen. See 0:43 to 0:47 of the video. let me know if you still have problems.
Hi.. i Purchased this for my Ipod Touch but the “Slide” Bar menu dose not work.. Any idea?
I don’t have an iPhone, shame this isn’t available as a Windows/Linux app. 73 Mike M0SAZ
